Welcome to Bridge Up Math Club!
We are a high school student founded nonprofit organization aimed at supporting k-5 students in strengthening their math foundation. Our main focus is on newly arrived Chinese immigrant students, providing them with the necessary tools and resources to excel in math.
Our Mission
As a group of Chinese American high school students who once struggled with math after moving to the United States, having overcome those challenges and now excelling in mathematics has fueled our passion to give back to the community.
Our mission is to support newly arrived Chinese immigrant families by providing free academic assistance in mathematics for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Through peer-to-peer tutoring and mentorship, we strive to create a welcoming environment where students can build confidence, strengthen their math skills, and adapt smoothly to their new communities—both socially and academically.

Ella Yu
Club Founder, Tutor
Hi! I'm Ella, the founder of BridgeUp Math Club and a student at South Forsyth High School. I’m passionate about helping younger students build confidence in math. Through my experience in advanced math courses, math competitions, and tutoring, I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple steps that students can understand and seeing their growth. I created BridgeUp Math Club to support students in our community and help them feel more confident and capable in their learning.
Kevin Xiang
Tutor
My name is Kevin Xiang, and I am an elementary school math tutor with a solid foundation in advanced mathematics, including AP Calculus. I have participated in statewide math competitions multiple times, honing my problem-solving and logical reasoning skills. I am passionate about helping younger students build confidence and develop a strong mathematical foundation. For a year and a half, I volunteered at my school's elementary math competition club, explaining math problems to the children. I am dedicated to making math learning easy and enjoyable for every student.

Assistant Tutor
I am a student who loves mathematics and has a strong academic foundation, currently studying Algebra 2 and maintaining excellent performance. I have experience tutoring elementary and kindergarten students at a nonprofit math club, where I excel at explaining basic concepts clearly, guiding their thinking, and helping children build confidence and interest in math.
